Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 27 October 2026

These terms govern your use of the WalkACK app and website, operated by WalkACK. By creating an account you agree to them.

The one thing to read before anything else: WalkACK points are a promotional reward, not money. They have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn or transferred, and can only be spent in the WalkACK rewards store. Section 4 sets this out in full.

Only real steps count. Points, contests and leaderboards count only steps you walked or ran yourself, as your own phone recorded them. Steps that break the fair play rules can be held back or removed, and an account that keeps breaking them can be warned, hidden from leaderboards and suspended. Section 5 sets out the rules.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. WalkACK involves advertising, payments and rewards of real-world value, which is why the age limit is 18 rather than lower. One account per person. Accounts are personal to you and may not be sold, shared or transferred.

2. Your account

You are responsible for everything that happens on your account and for keeping access to your phone number and sign-in method secure. Tell us promptly at contact@walkack.com if you think someone else has used your account. Information you give us — particularly a delivery address — must be accurate, because we cannot deliver a reward to an address that is not.

3. How you earn points

Points are awarded for activity in the app:

  • Walking — the steps your phone records are read from its health service (Apple Health on iPhone; Google Play services or Health Connect on Android) and convert into points at a published rate. Only steps that follow the fair play rules in section 5 count. A day's points are ready to collect in the app once the day is over and your phone has synced.
  • Daily cap — each account has a level, and each level sets a maximum number of points a single day of walking can pay. Steps beyond that still count towards your streak and your challenges, but they do not pay further points.
  • Levels — meeting your goal consistently raises your level and your daily ceiling. Repeatedly missing it lowers both.
  • Challenges, streaks, referrals and daily check-ins — each awards points on the terms shown in the app at the time.
  • Rewarded ads— some bonuses, and claiming a completed challenge's reward, require watching a short advertisement. The points you earn from walking never do, and WalkACK Pro members claim a challenge's reward without one.
  • WalkACK Pro — members are given points when their plan renews, as section 9 sets out.

Earning rates, daily caps, level thresholds and the reward catalogue are set by us and may change. Changes apply from the moment they are made and are not applied backwards to points you have already earned.

4. What a point is, and is not

WalkACK points are a promotional loyalty reward. They are not currency, not a payment instrument, not a security, and not a store of value.

  • Points have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn, encashed, or converted into money, cryptocurrency, or any other instrument.
  • Points cannot be transferred, gifted, traded or sold to another person, inside or outside the app.
  • Points are not sold. They are awarded for activity in the app and, to WalkACK Pro members, as a member reward when a plan renews (section 9). Paying for WalkACK Pro is paying for the membership, not for points.
  • Points are not a debt we owe you. We do not owe you money, a reward or anything else for points that are unspent, expired or removed under these terms, or that you could not spend because an item was out of stock or the service was changed, suspended or discontinued.
  • Points are not your property and confer no ownership rights. They are a licence to request a reward from the catalogue, revocable under these terms.
  • Points earned from watching advertisements may be restricted to certain items in the catalogue. Where a restriction applies, the app says so.
  • Points may expire if your account is inactive for an extended period. We will tell you before that happens.
  • If WalkACK is discontinued, we will tell you in the app beforehand and give you time to spend your balance where we reasonably can. Points unspent when the service ends lapse without compensation.

5. Fair play: only real steps count

Points are funded by real advertising and real commerce, and contests and leaderboards are only fair if every step behind them was really walked. Faking steps takes value from the people who actually walked, so these rules are strict.

Steps that count. A step counts only if you took it yourself, walking or running, and your own phone's health service (Apple Health on iPhone; Google Play services or Health Connect on Android) recorded it. Steps typed in by hand, or added by another app or device, may not count.

What is not allowed. You must not:

  • generate steps by any means other than your own walking or running — shaking or swinging a phone, mechanical step-shakers, motors, pets or vehicles;
  • let anyone else walk with your phone, or walk with someone else's phone for them;
  • sign in to your account on someone else's phone, or bring steps somebody else walked into your account in any other way;
  • use one phone for more than one WalkACK account, or have more than one account (section 1);
  • add, copy, edit or inflate step, motion or location data, by hand or with any app or tool, to show steps you did not walk — in Apple Health, Health Connect or anywhere else;
  • use emulators, rooted or jailbroken device exploits, modified builds of the app, automation tools or bots;
  • create fake accounts, including referral rings and accounts made to farm sign-up bonuses;
  • interfere with advertisements, including automated views or click fraud;
  • attack, reverse-engineer or try to get around the app, its checks or our servers.

Travelling. Your phone may count a few steps while you are in a car, bus or train, or on a bike. That is normal and does not break these rules, and you do not need to do anything about it. What is not allowed is using a vehicle, or any other movement, to make steps on purpose. If steps your phone counted while you were travelling are ever held back, tell us and a person will review them.

How we check.

  • Limits — automatic checks compare your steps with what a person can realistically walk or run in a given time. We set these limits, may change them, and do not publish them.
  • Held steps — steps that break a limit are held back until our team checks them. While they are held they count for nothing.
  • Kept or removed — steps we keep count in full. Steps we remove count for nothing. We remove the stretches that broke a limit or, where a day's steps cannot be believed, the whole day. When only stretches are removed, the rest of the day still counts.
  • One count for everything — points, contests, challenges, leaderboards, goals, streaks and levels all use only the steps that count.
  • Other signals — we also look at the timing and pattern of your steps and at the phones your account uses, as our privacy policy describes.

Fair play warnings. If our checks hold back your steps on several days in a row, or find more than one account using the same phone, we may open a fair play case on your account. We may also open one when we find any other breach of this section. We tell you about each step by email, where your account has an email address, and by a notification in the app. Each step follows only if the problem happens again after the one before:

  • Warning — you are taken out of every contest you have joined whose results are not yet published. Points paid to enter them are not returned.
  • Second warning — nothing more changes yet, but the next step hides your account.
  • Final warning — your account is hidden from every leaderboard and contest board, and cannot take a place or win a prize in a contest whose results are published while it is hidden.
  • Suspension — your account is suspended automatically. You are signed out at once and cannot sign in. It stays suspended unless we reactivate it after a review.

Confirming your steps. When a warning is about steps that look unusual, it asks you to confirm they were yours by a date it gives: press the button in the email, or write to us. Confirming does not restore anything by itself — the steps stay held until our team keeps or removes them. If you do not confirm in time, the stretches that broke a limit on those days are removed automatically.

Serious cases. Where we find deliberate faking — such as step-shakers, edited health data, bots, modified apps or fake accounts — we may suspend or close the account at once, without warnings.

Points, rewards and orders. Where steps did not follow these rules, we may withhold or reverse the points they earned, cancel pending orders, and decline to issue rewards. We do not take back points earned from real steps.

If you think we got it wrong. Reply to our email or write to contact@walkack.com, including while your account is hidden or suspended, and a person will review it. If we find we got it wrong, we close the case: your account is active and visible again, you go back into contests whose results are not yet published, and nothing more is removed for that case. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (section 15).

6. Rewards and redemption

Every catalogue item shows its price before you commit. An item costs points, and some items additionally cost a cash amount in Indian rupees.

  • Digital rewards— gift cards, vouchers and codes, delivered in the app. These are issued by third parties and are subject to that issuer's own terms, validity period and conditions of use.
  • Physical rewards — shipped to the address you provide, within India. Delivery timelines shown in the app are estimates, not guarantees.
  • Stock — the catalogue is limited. Items can sell out, and an item being listed is not a guarantee it remains available. We do not promise that the catalogue will hold any particular reward, or a reward your balance can buy, at any given time.
  • Verification — we may verify your identity or activity before issuing a reward, particularly a high-value one.
  • Your pointsand the item's stock are held the moment you place an order. If the cash portion is not paid within the time shown, the order is cancelled and both are released.

7. Payments, pricing and tax

Where an item has a cash portion, payment is taken through our payment processor. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered directly into their checkout and never reach our servers. Prices are in Indian rupees and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. A GST invoice is issued where required. If a payment fails or is reversed, the corresponding order is cancelled. WalkACK Pro is paid for through the App Store or Google Play, not through our payment processor (section 9).

8. Cancellations, no returns, and warranty

  • Cancelling — you may ask to cancel an order in the app until we confirm it. We confirm an order once we have checked the items; shipping it, or handing over a digital reward, also confirms it. After that it can no longer be cancelled. A digital reward can be cancelled only before it is paid for. A request is reviewed by us and is not automatic. If we cancel, your points are returned to your balance and any cash paid is refunded to the original payment method.
  • No returns or replacements — rewards cannot be returned or replaced once delivered, including an item that arrives damaged, faulty or different from what you ordered. This is shown on every reward before you order, and you agree to it at checkout.
  • Warranty — WalkACK gives no warranty of its own. Any warranty on a physical reward is the maker's, on the maker's conditions, and is claimed from the maker. WalkACK is not responsible for it.
  • Digital rewards — if a code or voucher was invalid or already used when we sent it, tell us at contact@walkack.com. We check with the issuer and replace it, or return your points if it cannot be replaced.
  • Refund timing — where we cancel an order, cash refunds are processed within 7 business days; how quickly it reaches you then depends on your bank. Points are returned immediately.

9. WalkACK Pro

WalkACK Pro is an optional paid membership. WalkACK works without it.

  • What it includes — the benefits shown in the app when you subscribe, such as no advertising other than the rewarded ads you choose to watch, the rewards and features marked Pro, and longer to collect your points. We may add, change or remove Pro benefits.
  • Price and billing — the price and the period are shown before you subscribe. Payment is taken by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms, not by us, and we never see your card, UPI or bank details. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for WalkACK.
  • Renewal — a plan renews automatically for the same period, at the price then in force, until you cancel it.
  • Cancelling — cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting the app or closing your WalkACK account does not cancel a plan. After you cancel, Pro stays until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Refunds — we do not refund payments ourselves. A refund is asked of, and decided by, the App Store or Google Play under their policies. If a payment is refunded or reversed, Pro ends at once.
  • Free trials and offers — a plan that starts with a free or reduced-price period becomes a paid plan when that period ends, unless you cancel before then.
  • Price changes — we may change the price. The store tells you beforehand and, where the law or the store asks for your consent, the plan ends unless you give it.
  • Member points — when a plan renews we may add points to your balance as a member reward, in the amount the app shows. They are points like any other under section 4: they have no cash value, and they are taken back if the payment they came with is refunded or reversed.
  • One account — a store subscription gives Pro to one WalkACK account.
  • No promise of earnings — Pro does not raise what walking pays, and does not guarantee that any reward is in stock.
  • When Pro ends — its benefits stop. Nothing you recorded is deleted, and it is there again if you subscribe again.
  • If Pro or WalkACK is discontinued — renewals stop and you are not charged again. A refund for a period already paid is a matter for the store that took the payment.

10. Advertising

WalkACK is free to use and is funded by advertising and by WalkACK Pro. Ads appear in the app, and choosing to watch a rewarded ad unlocks certain bonuses and challenge claims. WalkACK Pro members see no advertising except the rewarded ads they choose to watch. We do not control the content of third-party advertisements and are not responsible for the products or services they promote. Your dealings with an advertiser are between you and them.

11. Health disclaimer

WalkACK is a rewards and activity app. It is nota medical device and does not give medical, fitness or dietary advice. Step counts, distance and calorie figures are estimates produced by your phone's sensors and are not accurate enough to rely on for any medical purpose. Consult a qualified professional before beginning or changing an exercise routine, and stop and seek help if you feel unwell. Walk safely and stay aware of traffic and your surroundings — do not use the app while driving.

12. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep WalkACK running, but we do not promise that it will always be available or that it will continue. We may add, change, limit or withdraw any feature, and may suspend or discontinue WalkACK altogether, at any time and for any reason, including maintenance, security, cost, a change in the law or in a platform's rules, or reasons outside our control. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you in the app beforehand.

If your device stops reporting steps — because a permission was revoked, a platform changed, or the hardware failed — points cannot be awarded for the period affected. We are not responsible for what you could not do, earn or redeem while the service was unavailable or after it ends, subject to section 15.

13. Ending your account

You may close your account at any time — see Delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. On closure, any unspent point balance is forfeited without compensation, so spend your points first. Orders already paid for will still be fulfilled. Closing your WalkACK account does not cancel a WalkACK Pro plan: cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first (section 9).

14. Intellectual property

The WalkACK name, logo, app, website and content belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, decompile, resell or create derivative works from it. Anything you send us as feedback may be used freely and without obligation.

15. Liability

WalkACK, including WalkACK Pro, is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • we exclude all implied warranties, including that the app will be uninterrupted, free of errors or fit for a particular purpose;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, or for loss arising from inaccurate step counts, steps held or removed, points that expire, lapse or are removed under these terms, rewards that are unavailable or withdrawn, third-party issuers, advertisements, the app stores, or the service being changed, suspended or discontinued;
  • our total liability to you for everything connected with WalkACK is limited to the cash amount you actually paid for WalkACK, to us or through the App Store or Google Play, in the three months before the claim;
  • any claim is against WalkACK as the operator of the service, and not against its owners, directors, employees or contractors personally.

You are responsible for loss we suffer because you broke these terms or the law, including the fair play rules in section 5, and agree to make it good.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law — including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the competent courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to us using the details in section 18 — most problems are a delivery or a point balance, and both are quicker to fix directly.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be notified in the app before taking effect. Continuing to use WalkACK after that means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, close your account.

18. Contact and grievances

Questions, complaints or anything that needs a human: contact@walkack.com.

Email: contact@walkack.com

We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days, as required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
